Presented By: The Office of the Vice Provost for Diversity and Climate and the Office of Multicultural Arts Initiatives and co-sponsored by the Educational Outreach and Partnership Office and the UW School of Education

Beginning on Monday, January 23, 2012, Dr. Ladson-Billings, with team up with the Office of the Vice Provost for Diversity and Climate and the Office of Multicultural Arts Initiatives to welcome some of the seminal scholars and leaders in the growing field of hip hop studies in the United States today. The parade of special guests will focus their attention on how hip hop culture and culturally relevant pedagogy can serve as innovative approaches to help bridge the achievement gap in our nation’s public schools through the creation of new strategies and curricula to reach students who have been historically under-served by traditional schooling.
